James
Wilkins
Jul 3, 1966 — Feb 8, 2026
James D. Wilkins aka "Pop", father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on July 3, 1966, in Cairo, Georgia, James was the son of the late James and Martha (White) Wilkins. He spent his early years in Cairo before moving to Pennsylvania, where he grew up and built the foundation of his life.
James was a man defined by his passions. A proud Raiders fan through every high and many lows, he carried his team spirit with unwavering devotion. He found peace with a fishing rod in hand and joy in the simple pleasure of a good fish fry. A welder by trade, James took pride in his craft, his hands built things he wanted to last, much like the relationships he nurtured throughout his life.
Music was one of his greatest comforts. Whether it was the smooth flow of jazz or the unmistakable voice of Phil Collins, James found rhythm and meaning in the songs that filled his home and his heart.
James was the proud father of his son, Tré Wilkins (Taylor), and the adoring grandfather of Duke and Sloane Wilkins, who brought an immediate smile into his later years. He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy L. Wilkins and Rondale "Dale" Wilkins (Julie), who shared in his memories, mischief, and milestones.
James will be laid to rest at Crestview-Greenwood Cemetery in Georgia. In lieu of traditional funeral services, a private burial will be held. The family will gather for a repass at a time and place of their choosing, honoring James in the way he lived, surrounded by love, stories, and the people who meant the most to him.
Pop's presence will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.
